How do you plan to keep up with new innovations in technology once you have completed your classes at UNT?
Technology changes at such an intimidating rate. It seems if a user were to skip a generation of an upgraded technology, it would be easy for them to be overwhelmed and confused. Even though it changes quickly, these changes, thankfully, occur in steps in which users can figure out if they stay informed of the latest updates.
There are many ways to stay current with the newest technologies. This can be done simply by looking at blogs about the latest technologies. For example: http://www.forbes.com/bow/b2c/category.jhtml?id=308. News programs also discuss the latest technology available and the many tasks they can perform.
Other than blogs, the most useful way to stay current is through talking with others and seeing what new technology is out there, and how it is being used in all professions. There are so many different places where could discuss the latest technology with people; such as electronic stores. Although I think a source often overlooked would be recent college graduates. They were just in school where this technology is being used. They are a resource that needs to be tapped into. Also, staying current with new technology could be a simple as getting together with your fellow librarians and see what technologies they have found to be useful.
Staying current with the latest technologies is no more than a mouse click, text, email, IM, or tweet away.
